I am originally from San Diego, CA and moved to South Florida in 2008 to be closer to some of my family. I decided to go to graduate school for social work in hopes of becoming a therapist. I graduated from FAU with a Masters in Social Work. I genuinely love the path that I have chosen. It is challenging and incredibly rewarding.
I have worked primarily in the addictions field but with that comes experience in working with trauma, depression, anxiety, family issues, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, among other things.
After becoming pregnant with my daughter, I became motivated to study perinatal mental health. I don't believe there is enough education and support out there and I hope through continued education and working with people who are moving through the journey to parenthood (or are already parents) I can make a difference!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, making up ridiculous songs to sing to my kid, listening to podcasts and thinking about where I'd like my next adventure to be!
My Professional Background
I received a Masters of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2014. I have completed advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), advanced EMDR training for the Flash Technique, training from the Arizona Trauma Institute for CCTS-I (Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist - Individual), and I have also completed training from 2020Moms and Postpartum Support International.
