Maybe you’re finding yourself stuck in a pattern that doesn’t serve you; whether it’s falling into the same type of relationship that never works out, feeling like no matter what you do it’s never good enough, or not going after what you want in life because you feel you don’t really deserve or won’t be able to achieve even if you tried. You’re tired of feeling unworthy, not good enough, or like you don’t matter. You may or may not know where these beliefs come from, but you do know you want to find a better way. EMDR might be right for you.

EMDR is a powerful addition in your healing toolbox.

EMDR can help accelerate healing. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s a quick fix, but it does mean it can help you process things more effectively that you have struggled to “get over”. Trauma can get stuck in our bodies and it is not your fault you have not moved past it, you simply haven’t had the right tools to do so.

EMDR helps you reprocess past traumatic events so they are no longer impacting your day to day life. If you’re curious about how EMDR works, I recommend this video from the EMDR International Association to learn more.

While EMDR therapy has traditionally been used to treat PTSD, it is becoming one of the leading treatments for many mental health problems. While many anxiety treatments help you deal with the symptoms of anxiety, EMDR therapy can help you address the root cause of your anxiety or fear - and to do so quickly.

EMDR can help with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, chronic pain, grief, phobias and fears, and more.

What is trauma anyway? Trauma can come from so many things. While a lot of people think trauma can only come from being in the military, major life event, or significant abuse, trauma can come from distant/emotionally neglectful parents, bullying, emotional abuse, a bad job, and so many other things. Trauma also doesn’t only impact you directly around the experience; trauma can stay with you for years! It can contribute to problems with physical health, substance abuse issues, negative sense of self, difficulty tolerating emotions, among other things.
