There are many benefits to receiving therapy including working through interpersonal issues, dealing with stress, getting some time for yourself(!), and gaining a deeper understanding of what drives your thought processes and behaviors.
Therapy for Moms
The pregnancy and postpartum period can come with a mixed bag of emotions including elation, fear, anxiety, happiness, and confusion. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression (which can include feelings of rage), OCD (which can show up as scary thoughts that make you wonder if you're "crazy"), or a traumatic birth experience I can help you resolve or reduce your symptoms.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of therapy used to treat a variety of issues including unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety, and phobias. If you are looking for an alternative to talk therapy that will help you deal with unresolved issues then EMDR may be a good fit for you.
In my experience in being on both the therapist side and the client side in therapy, the relationship is key. My approach is to be honest and authentic with my clients. What you see is what you get. I meet my clients where they are at and do my best to create an environment where my clients are able to speak and feel freely. I use different modalities and do my best to understand you as your whole person to help guide you into understanding yourself better.

I am originally from San Diego, CA and moved to South Florida in 2008 to be closer to some of my family. I decided to go to graduate school for social work in hopes of becoming a therapist.
